Riverboats – If you want a tour of the city but don’t want to walk, there are a couple of riverboat tours you can take instead. Gateway Arch Riverboat cruises is perhaps the most famous and cruises start out at one hour so that you can see the sights without getting bored. Riverboats are usually great entertainment, and the shorter tour is better for kids who get bored easily. Consider packing a lunch or buying a box or hot dog lunch with your pre-reservation. Gateway also has a dinner cruise if you’re more interested in a nighttime view of the city. One options is also to take the ride on their paddle boat replica!

Union Station – Most kids love old trains, and Union Station is the best place to see them. The railway first opened in 1894 and was once the largest rail terminal in the world. You can take the opportunity to have fun, give your kids a mini history lesson, and enjoy the history yourself while you’re there. You can also check out the old hotel, or indulge in a little shopping at the more than 80 shops and St. Louis restaurants at the station. Best of all, your stay at Union Station could be an all-day adventure, or just one part of your exploration of St. Louis.

Busch Stadium – If you’re the kind of family who are into sports, then why not check out the Busch stadium before or after dining at restaurant in Downtown St. Louis? Busch is home of the Cardinals, but you don’t have to be a fan of the team to enjoy this stadium. If you’re lucky, there might also be a baseball game or other event in progress and you can likely snag tickets and enjoy the 46,000 seat stadium as it was meant to be seen.

City Museum – If you like old stuff then the museum is the place to be. The St. Louis City Museum is a huge museum with tons of kid friendly attractions including a giant slide! They also have a MonstroCity for kids and adults, a Baby Bob Ball Pit for toddlers and kids. For the braver, the Thunderdome is an older age appropriate option. For fish lovers, the second floor houses the World Aquarium, which is incredibly spectacular for all ages. There also a number of great artists on display at St. Louis art museums.

Gateway Arch – If you’re in St Louis then taking the 630 foot ride to the top of the Gateway Arch is a must. Remember to pack your cameras and take plenty of pictures because day or night, the view is simply phenomenal. While kids who are afraid of heights won’t enjoy it as much, the ride up and the view are both worth the time.

What ever you choose regarding restaurants in Downtown St Louis, we are sure that you’ll enjoy yourselves.
